SPoC — Software-based PIN Entry on COTS

A PCI-listed SPoC solution pairs a PCI-listed approved PTS Secure Card Reader-PIN with a commercial off-the-shelf phone or tablet so PIN entry can happen on the consumer device screen.

What it means in practice

SPoC is only for attended card-present transactions and the solution must appear on the PCI SSC validated SPoC Solutions list.

A qualifying deployment can make SAQ SPoC available.
